Road Courtesy Please!

Ho Ho Ho.. am back! It sure does take some discipline to really keep a decent updated blog. Bad thing is, Im definitely not disciplined enough to even do my readings, least to say update my blog. However, thanks to my sis who said my blog is getting too boring and philosophical, Ive decided its time I try to liven things up here. Haha..

Really am looking forward to my sis getting her driving licence, to enjoy the joys of driving, and mainly to prove to guys out there that ladies can drive as well as any of them!! Im not a die-hard feminist but hey, enough of saying that ladies cant drive for nuts!

Ok.. Im not saying that Im an exceptionally good driver – I still have no guts to try parallel parking after knocking the pole down for my TP test, I cringe at having to drive in town with the awful traffic, I get hesitant at lane changing at times – but still, we all have our weaknesses! Eh, those who are takin my car on a regular basis, no worries, U still arrive home safe and sound right? Haha..

And whats with taxi drivers?! Stopping as and when they like, cutting into lanes like the roads are theirs, and not even saying thanks when others give way! Its infuriating!!! Ok, not all taxi drivers are that bad, only a selected few. But its not just them! Hey, I may be just driving a Colt, but that doesnt give those driving Merc, Lexus or any huge luxury cars to just swerve into my lane as and when you like just because I will have to pay a crazy amount of compensation to you if anything happen!!!! And all these without signaling at all! To think I think twice about horning coz I know how annoying it is to be horned at! Grrrr..

Meanwhile, Im trying to steer clear of parallel parking lots as much as I can.. =P

Keeping things simple (2)

Here's the 2nd installment of 'Keeping things simple'.. enjoy!

The aspects of things that are most important to us are hidden because of their simplicity and familiarity.
- Ludwig Wittgenstein

To know you have enough is to be rich.
- Lao-Tzu, Tao Te Ching

My riches consist not in the extent of my possessions but in the fewness of my wants.
- J. Botherton

The ordinary arts we practice every day at home are of more importance to the soul than their simplicity might suggest.
- Thomas Moore

You can't force simplicity; but you can invite it in by finding as much richness as possible in the few things at hand. Simplicity doesn't mean meagerness but rather a certain kind of richness, the fullness that appears when we stop stuffing the world with things.
- Thomas Moore, The Re-Enchantment of Everyday Life, p. 293
